TITLE: CTE Paraprofessional
CLASSICATION: Instructional Support Staff
PAY GRADE 11: $17.44 - $18.54 hourly (based on education and experience)
LENGTH: 6.5 hours daily / 180 days yearly
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or, two (2) years college credit or, completion of 1,000 hours in the past year as a paraprofessional or successful completion of ParaPro Assessment Test.
- Maintain strong verbal, written, and computer skills
- Demonstrated interest in working with high school students
- Possess basic technical skills and knowledge, preferably in the automotive industry
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Administration may find appropriate and acceptable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports teachers and students in the Auto Collision, Auto Services, Aviation, and Diesel Services programs or other content areas.
- Works with individual and small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials and/or skills.
- Assists students with independent study, enrichment, and remedial work as assigned by the teacher.
- Provides assistance and support to special needs students.
- Reads to students, proctors exams, and provides direct supervision.
- Assists with the handling of students with social emotional needs.
- Assists in organizing and monitoring student work-based learning programs.
- Communicates effectively with business partners.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
- Assists teachers to maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and training lab.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Administration and/or other designee.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
