Salary: $73,800 to $81,800 (Level 2 to 10 based on education and experience)
Reports to: Director of Technology

SUMMARY: The Systems Administrator and Analyst role within the Technology and Security department is responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining various information systems platforms, analyzing information and data inputs/outputs, analyzing and leading assigned cybersecurity initiatives, and providing general activities and expertise in information systems and security.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in computer/information technology, cybersecurity or a related field.
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution or equivalent experience, and/or industry technology/security certifications
- Demonstrate a willingness to accept responsibility and to interact well with all school employee groups.
- Have the skills, knowledge and ability to interact with and instruct others in using various computers and mobile devices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse groups, and speak with employees, students’ parents, and visitors.
- Have the skills, knowledge, and ability to diagnose problems and support the major enterprise systems and software in use by this School Corporation.
- Understanding and/or certification in Information Security / Cybersecurity topics and activities
- Ability to plan and meet defined time schedules and deadlines.
- Willingness to accept direction and the ability to effectively complete assigned tasks.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as administration may find appropriate and acceptable
- Experience in an educational/academic environment is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Google suite administration and analysis
- Group Policy management (DNS, DHCP, cert mgmt, related protocols, etc)
- Server Maintenance (Microsoft, backup technologies, document storage, etc)
- Information/cyber- security analysis, mitigation and response
- Technology & process integration
- Artificial Intelligence evaluation
- Classlink and student authentication systems administration
- Identify, analyze and document technology related projects and initiatives, including software, apps, services, functions and content.
- Facilitate, research and evaluate new technologies. Analyze and specify technology tools relating to hardware, software and telecommunications services such as personal computers, software applications, mobile devices/apps and instructional technologies.
- Coordinate and manage departmental projects, both owned by employee and those activities related to larger efforts where tasks and activities are owned by others, to completion.
- Provide status, timeline updates and completion information to manager, tracking system and/or end users.
- Coordinate activities with help desk, network services and other IT/IS groups.
- Work with senior staff to develop effective resolution plans and procedures.
- Work with staff to monitor systems usage and evaluate performance against defined goals.
- Train users on software and equipment usage. Respond to the needs and questions of computer users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs. Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems.
- Analyze and communicate standards of use and district tech operations. Communicate with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware and operations issues. Consult with department managers to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
- Validate project and program objectives through testing, reviewing objectives, comparison with established standards, and evaluating proposed changes; recommend changes and make modifications as needed.
- Coordinates activities of hardware, software, support and training vendors, especially those related to technology and security impacting classroom settings.
- Communicate verbally and in writing to tech and education staff, departments, and contractors and vendors, as needed.
- Collect and analyze IT/IS data to improve technology support in schools.
- Review and contribute to software and app documentation.
- Attend meetings, conferences and seminars to learn emerging IT and instructional technologies.
- Assist with and coordinate technology education projects that support increased use of tech in classrooms and media centers.
- Assist instructional technologists with technology and security needs.
- Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by administration.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
