Job Title: Nurse Coordinator Manager
Classification: Salaried (Exempt) - 215 Days/Years
Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 (based on education and experience)
Reports to: Director of Student Support Services

Summary: Appraises, protects, and promotes the health of students and school personnel by performing the following duties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Supervisory or Management experience of 1-2 years required.
- School nursing experience 1-2 years preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse groups, and speak with employees, students’ parents, and visitors.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and to stay calm in chaotic environments or situations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises, assigns and evaluates school nurses and health aides.
- Recruiting, interviewing and recommending new hires for nursing and health aide position.
- Provide training to nurses, health aides and first responders in school buildings.
- Works collaboratively with the Floyd County Health Department, State Department of Heath, to ensure compliance with Medical Standing orders, Stock medication and vaccination compliance.
- Works collaboratively with District staff to ensure student health information is collected and recorded in student information system.
- Ensures the dissemination of student health information to the appropriate parties throughout the district as applicable.
- Oversees the district compliance with regard to immunizations.
- Administers, coordinates and reports the vision screening throughout the district as required by the state.
- Supports district initiatives related to student attendance. This includes student health and the application of certificate of incapacity as appropriate.
- Coordinates and trains cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)/first aide for staff and first responders throughout the district.
- Provides resources/support in subjects such as first aid, diabetes care, dental care, hand washing, growth, and development.
- Oversees records of students with health concerns.
- Collaborates with school personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional and physical needs of school children.
- Initiates, maintains and reviews health records of students in compliance with applicable laws.
- Works Collaboratively with parents, school personnel, physicians and clinics and other agencies on student medical matters.
- Disseminates information to school staff on health matters regarding health action plans and health concerns.
- Works collaboratively with the school team regarding the exclusion and re-admission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
- Represents as needed health services in the participation of case conferences and 504 meetings regarding health Services.
- Coordinates and oversees competencies in school nurses and health aides by providing annual trainings.
- Prepares and make accessible onboarding trainings/materials for health services staff.

Plans and participates in in-service trainings/programs.

Assists building administration for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered
an injury or emergency illness.

Performs other related duties as assigned by administration.
