TITLE: Custodial Night Lead
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly (Non-exempt)
PAY RANGE 11: $17.44 to $18.54 (based on experience and education)
SHIFT: Split 1st & 2nd Shift hours (hours may vary by building)
LENGTH: 8 Hours daily/260 days yearly
REPORTS TO: Building Administration in conjunction with the Facilities Operations Manager

SUMMARY: Performs cleaning duties as needed based on need. Provides direction and support to contract services staff on priorities and ensuring work is completed nightly. Operates and performs general maintenance on buildings and grounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applications must have two years’ experience or the equivalent skills and experience from a similar position;
- applications must have a knowledge & experience in custodial services;
- Applicants must have exceptional oral communication skills (listening, questioning, clarifying and responsiveness)
- Applicants must write clearly and informatively, able to read and interpret written information.
- Applicants must possess the ability to work in a team environment and create positive, cooperative, and professional relationships.
- General knowledge of computers including email, word processing and work order software.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains, cleans, and ensures safety of buildings and premises, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and grassy areas; removes snow and salts or sands icy areas when needed.
- Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities such as filter and light bulb changes.
- Maintains and complies with safety regulations regarding equipment.
- Complies with safety regulations concerning the mixing, storage and handling of chemical supplies.
- Maintains in depth knowledge of fire and security alarm systems.
- Uses proper procedures when cleaning body fluid spills.
- Empties trash containers; complies with local procedures and laws for the storage and disposal of trash and waste.
- Sets up tables and chairs for events and moves furniture and equipment as directed.
- Inspects fire extinguishers, playground equipment, and emergency lighting.
- Engaged in the general cleaning and up keep of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing windows.
- Answers building alarm calls
- Coordinates the contracted workers (cleaners) on tasks that need to be completed and inspects assigned custodial areas for cleanliness.
- Other related duties as may, from time to time, be assigned by the Principal or Facilities Operations Manager.
